Young Adult With Down Syndrome Determined To Be A Model
Meet Maddy
Madeline Stuart is no ordinary 18-year old. She is pursuing her dream of becoming a model; driven by confidence, she has found an opportunity for her outer beauty to shine in addition to her inner beauty. Madeline, “Maddy”, has Down Syndrome and is showing the world that limitations don’t have to exist.

Motivation
Newfound weight loss motivated Maddy to experience modeling. Wanting to shed pounds after swimming and dancing became frustrating, she lost 44 lbs. With the help of her mother, Maddy lost the weight and looked and felt great. Soon modeling was considered and pursued.

Modeling
Maddy’s story was found inspiring and The Living Dead clothing label provided their support. Diverse body types are what this label prides themselves on; they sign models with broad appeal.
Down Syndrome
This genetic disorder varies in severity but is commonly associated with physical growth delay, and mental youth. The love and compassion displayed by someone with Down Syndrome is characteristic everything humanity strives for. In their adulthood, many people with Down Syndrome enjoy working and have commonly graduated from high school.

Support
When anyone is supported and believed in, with some effort they can accomplish their dreams. Maddy is a perfect example of a person coming into her own, learning that she can make a difference for others by leading the way.
Future
Limitations among those with Down Syndrome are few, especially with robust support by family, friends, and community. Maddy is determined to become a model and she is well on her way. Her beauty waits for a canvas on which to be displayed so that the world may enjoy her light. May other labels step forward and embrace the Maddys of this world.
